Sunrise Superkids Primary School proudly takes part in the Eco-Schools programme. Eco-Schools is a programme that promotes environmental management and sustainability and is being implemented in schools in over 58 countries worldwide. In South Africa, more than 1300 schools currently take part in the programme.

We believe the Eco-Schools programme is key in the development of our young learners as they play the most important and hands-on role. We have undertaken numerous projects including a vegetable garden, planting trees and water saving, which is the most important for us during these times.

We recently received the green flag from WESSA for our comprehensive projects to promote wise utilisation of resources and sustainability at our school. We were also awarded a bronze certificate by the National Eco-Schools Board for our hard-work and commitment to promoting a healthy, clean and safe environment at our school and in our local community.
